Marie-Jeanne Gay
Marie-Jeanne Gay got a diploma from the Royal Academy of the Fine Art of Charleroi, Belgium. (Académie Royale des Beaux Arts de Charleroi.)
Besides drawing according to nature, she investigates the pictural possibilities of the watercolour, its light, its transparency and its powers of sugestion.
She’s been attending the Show of Watercolour of Belgium in Namur and obtained several distinctions : the most recent are the prize of province of Hainaut in 2008 and the «Lucas Creativ» prize during the International Competition of Watercolour in Veltem in 2009.
We discover in her works the expressiveness of the human body, the spirit of the landschapes and the colours of the folklore.
